Known as The New Familiars, the group originally started as a collaboration between childhood buddies Justin Fedor (mandolin, guitar, banjo) and Eric-Scott Guthrie (harmonica, guitar, banjo); however it was after pairing up with Josh Daniel (resonator guitar, guitar), James Stratford (bass guitar), and Ryan Ramirez (drums) that The New Familiars’ sound started evolving. All together they bring an infectious camaraderie to the stage, while in the studio have combined to produce a tantalizing glimpse of their musical presence with their debut studio EP, a six song disc entitled ‘The Storm’. These gentlemen combine an amazing passion for harmony with multi-instrumental talent and an uncanny ability for storytelling. Writing folk music from the core - of the people, by the people, and for the people - while incorporating the multitudes of influences that each of the members bring to the table, this band is a powerful swell in a new wave of honest roots-derived rock n’ roll that is sweeping the nation in the wake of a very tumultuous time in our history.
